Description:  Portraits 5. Here is a steam locomotive portrait via Paul W. Prescott that was taken in Meadows Yard near Kearny, New Jersey, on 12 December 1954. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5473, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during March of 1927, rebuilt with a front-end throttle in Juniata in 1944, and retired in February of 1956 after 29 years of faithful service. Note that the main driving rods have been removed in preparation for scrapping. (#35 of 40)
